Oughta give Iowa a try?

I am sitting in front of the TV watching the coverage of the Iowa caucuses and wishing I was there. There is something so clearly American about rooms of various sizes (from family basements to high school gyms), spread across the state, filled with people wanting to hear what their neighbors are going to say about the candidates and then casting their own vote. I love it!

  1. You say it so amazingly! I remember driving through that state from Creighton University back to "home" in Illinois. One word: cornfields! :) I remember we joked how we needed to count the mile markers to make sure we were moving. My favorite time of the year to drive through was at harvest. The site of these massive pieces of farm machinery harvesting the corn or beans was always something truly to behold, truly American!
