(we think)

Best friend of A. 

(at least for an hour or two before he perished)

Though small of stature,

(I could barely identify this bug insect on the ground though I crouched down and looked closely)

he (she?) merited a large grave. 

Family 

(not sure if there are any, do crickets have families?) 

and friends 

(the best friend, namely A) 

are handling this trauma drama quite well.
